Saksham Pedal Delhi is India’s Premier Cyclothon, that aims to propagate the importance of fuel conservation and efficient energy utilization, amongst the citizens of our National Capital. In an effort to instil socio-environmental consciousness, Saksham Pedal Delhi is an initiative by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), a non-profit organization setup in 1978 under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, engaged in promoting energy efficiency in various sections of the economy.
The iconic Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium will host the event, scheduled for the 5th of November 2017 and will also create a platform for India’s finest elite athletes to compete. In association with the Cycling Federation of India & Doit Sports, Saksham Pedal Delhi will leverage sport to create mass awareness for the conservation of petroleum products. Marketed & managed by Meraki Sport & Entertainment & Choose My Bicycle, Saksham Pedal Delhi, will see over 5000 participants, across various event categories – Elite Cyclists, Amateur Ride (27km), Open Ride(9km) and Green Ride (5km). The criterium races will be conducted on a 10km course with the India Gate as a backdrop.
WHAT WE ACHIEVED:
As a non-profit organization, PCRA is a national government agency engaged in promoting energy efficiency in various sectors of the economy. It helps the government in proposing policies and strategies for petroleum conservation, aimed at reducing the excessive dependence of the country on oil requirement.
